Benue State Government Commemorates International Day of Persons with Disabilities (2nd December 2025)
Theme: “Towards Inclusive Development and Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities in Benue State”
The Government of Benue State, led by HE Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, joined citizens, advocates, and partners in a vibrant statewide rally in Makurdi to mark the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The event was a powerful expression of unity, respect, and the shared belief that every person matters. The rally, organised by Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Benue State Chapter, and supported by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, and BICD, sent a clear message: inclusion is not a privilege, it’s a right!
We appreciate the commitment of Governor Alia and the House of Assembly to supporting the rights of persons with disabilities, as evident in the swift passage of the Benue State Disability Rights Law (2025).
Thanks to all participants, partners, and supporters for building a Benue where every person, regardless of ability, is seen, valued, and empowered to thrive.
