FROM GARDEN TO HARVEST: BRMI DEMONSTRATES THE VALUE OF CLIMATE-SMART AGRICULTURE

BRMI has harvested fresh cucumbers from its office garden, showcasing how climate-smart agriculture (CSA) can be practiced even on a small scale. The initiative demonstrates the potential of simple, sustainable farming practices to contribute to food production while making efficient use of available resources.

Beyond the harvest, the office garden serves as a practical demonstration of the benefits of climate-smart agriculture, including improved food security, efficient resource use, livelihood opportunities, and increased resilience to climate-related challenges.

Through initiatives like this, BRMI continues to promote practical approaches that encourage communities to embrace sustainable agricultural practices and build more resilient food systems.

BEYOND TALKING: STRENGTHENING EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION AT BRMI

BRMI held a weekly staff capacity-building session on “Beyond Talking – Effective Communication for Development” on 24 August 2026 at the BRMI Conference Hall, facilitated by Jato Terungwa Theophilus, Programme Assistant.

The session focused on effective communication, active listening, community engagement, stakeholder management, and handling difficult conversations. Through practical exercises and interactive discussions, staff explored ways to improve communication and strengthen engagement with communities and stakeholders.
